OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We strive to provide a loving, caring and nurturing environment for the children in care and promote a love for learning. We embrace each child as an individual with diverse needs. We provide child center childcare focused on fostering children’s creativity in a developmentally appropriate and resource reach play based environment. Our mission is to serve a proudly diverse group of families, children and community. We provide an inclusive and safe environment for children’s development and work daily to introduce them to beautiful cultures that make up our community.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Miles of Smiles is a play based program implementing FLIGHT (Alberta's Early Learning and Care Curriculum Framework). Children are encouraged in having play and care experiences that support their learning and development through thoughtfully planned and spontaneous activities that engage their interest and imagination. Child Guidance will be in a manner appropriate to the child's development through re-direction and building problem solving skill to resolve conflict. Children will be protected from all forms of physical punishment, physical and verbal abuse and emotional deprivation. Miles of Smiles values diversity and an inclusive environment. We understand that a child's familial background (cultural, social, linguistic and spiritual heritage) is central to the child's well being, safety and development. We seek to incorporate these aspects of a child's familial background into our care environment. The care we provide will be appropriate to the needs of the child mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. We aim to build a strong and positive relationship with parents (families) and the community. We believe that parent’s involvement and engagement is crucial in the maintenance of a quality program. We believe that hiring qualified and experienced educators who are passionate about their work is fundamental in creating an environment that supports early learning and exploration.
